STEAM & ENGLISH|GRADES 1–9|HSINCHU & ZHUBEI

A place best for learning English for kids.

Hai Yin is a learning community where students develop clear communication, sound academic habits, and the confidence to take part. Classes are purposeful, personal, and designed for progress that lasts.

We place students by readiness and current skill—not by age alone.

THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE

Challenge, support, and the confidence to contribute

Students learn best when expectations are clear, practice is meaningful, and teachers pay attention to what happens after an answer is given. Our classrooms are built around active participation and steady, visible growth.

01

A classroom where students belong

Teachers establish clear routines and invite every student into the conversation. Children know what is expected, feel safe taking a risk, and learn to listen as thoughtfully as they speak.

02

Instruction that responds

Pacing, questions, and support change with the learners in the room. Teachers notice misunderstandings early and make the next step clear without lowering expectations.

03

Follow-through beyond the lesson

Learning does not end when class is dismissed. When a student needs another explanation or more practice, complimentary review support helps close the gap while it is still manageable.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

BRIGHTSTEPS ENGLISH STEAM|NOW AT HAI YIN

Ideas become designs. Evidence becomes better decisions.

BrightSteps gives students a reason to use English. Each field mission begins with a real need and moves through investigation, design, testing, revision, and explanation. Students learn that a strong idea is not simply announced—it is built, tested, and supported with evidence.

01Ask & Define

Understand the need

Identify the user, the problem, and the criteria that will define success.

02Find & Imagine

Investigate possibilities

Compare materials, gather observations, and turn findings into a thoughtful plan.

03Make & Test

Learn from results

Build a first design, conduct a fair test, and record what actually happens.

04Improve & Explain

Defend the revision

Use evidence to improve the design and explain why the change makes sense.

Communication with a real purpose

Students ask, negotiate, compare, and explain because the work requires it—not because a worksheet asks for a sentence.

Thinking families can see

Plans, measurements, test results, and reflections create a visible record of how an idea develops.

One mission, multiple entry points

Language support and challenge can vary while students remain part of the same team and the same meaningful task.

DESIGNED FOR STEADY GROWTH

A weekly schedule that keeps learning in motion

Three learning days create continuity without turning the week into a race. Students encounter new language, work with it, and return to it while teachers still have time to respond to what each class needs.

Day 1

Launch

Build context, establish meaning, and introduce the language students will need.

Day 2

Develop

Read, discuss, practice, and receive feedback while the learning is still fresh.

Day 3

Apply

Use the week’s language in a new context and identify the next area for growth.

Frequently asked questions

What families want to know

How do you determine the right class for a student?

We consider grade level, prior learning, current skills, classroom readiness, and schedule. The goal is a class that offers genuine challenge without placing the student beyond productive support.

What does English-led instruction look like?

English is the primary language of classroom interaction. Teachers use modeling, visuals, pacing, and carefully sequenced questions to make meaning accessible, adding brief clarification only when it protects understanding.

Is BrightSteps a separate science class?

BrightSteps is an English STEAM program. Students use English to investigate, plan, test, document, and explain. Language development and problem-solving happen within the same experience.

What support is available when a student struggles?

Teachers identify the specific skill or concept that needs attention and provide focused, complimentary review support rather than asking families to solve the gap on their own.

START A CONVERSATION

The right program begins with knowing the student.
